Man looking down on a mountainous valley

Yen Minh is kind of a lackluster stop along the loop. There isn’t anything of much interest in the small town. But, its convenient location along the loop make it a popular stop for the night. There are a few friendly places to kick your feet up, and a lot of cafes to choose from on the main road through town.

Thôn Nà Mạ, TT. Yên Minh, Yên Minh, Hà Giang, Vietnam

Homestay Bong Bang is a popular spot on the loop that sleeps 30+ people, making it rather busy on some nights. It can be a good place to socialize and meet other riders. On the flip side, it can be difficult to get an early night’s sleep because of the noise.

The place is a traditional style homestay of wood and brick, with a large dorm room, a few private rooms, and shared bathrooms. The room situation is a bit tight, as the beds are closely placed together, making it difficult to maneuver through. But, the beds are comfy and clean.

The layout of the homestay is convenient, with a center social area with a small fire on some nights.

The staff is super friendly, helpful and speak great english. The communal dinners and breakfast cost extra.
